Sunshine and Dynamite / / revamped story

Lee Sun Wei (李荪微)/Sunny

Dylan/Not-James

I breathe, and it feels like his eyes are all-knowing as they stare into mine so intensely and fully. "Thank you," I can't help but choke out. "For... seeing me."

A breeze blows over us, and a strand of hair falls out from behind my ear. There's an eternity long moment where we just look at each other, my vision slightly blocked by the line of black across it. But it doesn't stop me from looking at him, seeing him.

He leans over, gently, and pushes it back behind my ear. When he does, he whispers. "Thank you for letting me."

Sunny and Dylan are from two worlds. Sunny just wants to go back to the past. Dylan just wants to live in the now.

But one thing ties them together--both of them are afraid of the future.

This is a love story, not in the sense that girl meets boy and boy meets girl and they both fall in love. No, it is a love story, and girl does meet and boy and boy does meet girl, but they learn something greater than that.

They don't specifically need each other in the wholesome sense that Sunny needed Dylan and Dylan needed Sunny. No, they just so happened to need something that someone could provide, and sometimes, the world is fateful and kind enough to let two people meet at the right place, at the right time.

Hi, friends. I have recently decided to revamp my story Sunshine and Dynamite. This was originally a short, 5-chapter storybook with a sort of vague-ish ending. However, the story pretty much left you hanging and gave you just an insight into Sun's life. Now, I have decided to add 5 or so more chapters, introducing Dylan to you (these are a work in progress and is thus not posted yet). I have a prelude, which introduces you to Sun, and an interlude, which introduces Dylan, and I will ad a postlude, where it's like an artsy little epilogue.

Please go read it, it would mean the world to me.

Thank you,
Claudia

  1. INDEED IT LEFT ME HANGING. LIKE WHAT OUGBAIDGBAODUGBDKJBGDOUGBDGBK.

Wait so the next 5 chapters you're putting up are just insights to Dylan's life, right? They're not gonna intersect anymore?

P.S. Did you make those Tumblr-ish frame-things? They're pretty cool. Canva (though I don't think I've seen Canva having this sort of layout)?

  2. Ahahaha, I know :P

Anyways, yes, their lives will intersect but you it will then be in Dylan's point of view, because in the first five chapters, the sole focus was really on Sun, and Sun's feelings, and pretty much none of Dylan's internal monologue. Therefore, I will be writing more about Dylan.

P.S. Yeah, I made them to portray what I think of Sun and Dy in my mind :) Thanks for thinking that they're cool, I worked for a bit on them hahaha. Not Canva. I... actually... used, like, Microsoft Word. Lol.

    1. Dylan's point of view as in the whole story A.K.A everything that happened with Sunny and Dylan or is there gonna be more to the story (after he left Sunny's house for his ex-girlfriend)?

Yep. I can tell that they're not Canva-made.

By the way, how do you insert a chapter before all of your existing chapters? Because I tried doing that once, and it didn't work.

the dilemma of being a writer / / rant, insight

Being a writer is problematic. And I don't mean all the technical errors and stuff--no, no. As excruciating as it is to realize you haven't saved one of your chapters, or having a really annoying and debilitating writer's block that has left your fingers pretty much paralyzed and confused, I'm talking about the reality check.  Oh, the horror.  Do you know how easy it is to say you're a writer? Oh, yeah, I'm a writer, I write blogs about cars. Yeah, I write fan fictions about K-Pop idols. I'm totally a nerd, I love writing one shots. Oh, I'm a writer, I love to write sad romance fictions and publish it on Wattpad to garner views! (BTW, the last sentence there is essentially the basis my "writer"hood is based on; what an impostor).   Well, okay, maybe you do know how easy it is to claim yourself as a writer.  Mm. I wish I could say the same.  I only recently found out just how many people call themselves writer. I should have k...

i can't, help me // more writing rants

So, if you've read my last blog, you'll know about the whole writing thing, and the $100 bucks and everything. I agreed. Because I want the money. Sue me. And I'm a writer, I can just cough up some 10-chaptered 12,000 worded story right up, can't I? It can be shitty, I shouldn't care; good book, bad book, I get the $100 all the same.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  But noooo, apparently, I can't. I can't just write a shitty book. I mean, yeah, it's underdeveloped and shit, but I'm pretty sure all writers agree, when y'all start writing a book, creating them universes, and also all those little characters, they start doing crazy things all on their own. It's not just me, right? I just can't. Once, my English teacher told me to leave a piece of me in everything that I do, and that I do everything with passion. And I do, I really do. So, I can't just write something without putting passion into it. I'm a huge believe or doing what you love, lovi...

eat at 18 review // foodie

(Hello readers! Before I begin with the actual contents of this blog, I wanted to quickly say, wow, I haven't posted in such a long time, but I'm back now and I have a new idea for this blog; I'm going to start a new segment called foodie . Unoriginal, I know, but essentially, that's all there is to it. I love food, I love eating it, I love taking pictures of it, I love talking about it. Alright, so  foodie is pretty self-explanatory, right? Therefore I won't waste too much time explaining what it is, and instead let's just jump right into it.) Eat at 18 is an extraordinary cafe located in the heart of Malacca, a state in Malaysia and just today I had the immense pleasure of visiting it and here is what I have to say about it. Malacca is a historical city and the famous tourist magnet known as Jonker Walk has a bunch of really interesting buildings, some of them dating back to the 17th century. A lot of these shop lots have very narrow entrances but are very...
